Outside there are two statues, in the shade of two olive trees, symbols of peace.

The sculpture of Saint Michael represents a fusion of Eastern and Western iconographic traditions, typical of mosaics, with Byzantine imperial dress, once reserved for emperors to symbolize the divine authority of Christ. The Archangel holds a liturgical paten before the heavenly throne, on which the Holy Face of Our Lord is reflected. The staff he holds bears the Greek inscription of the Trisagion – “Holy, Holy, Holy” – in reference to the Trinity. On the base, beneath the figure of the now subdued evil one, is inscribed Quis ut Deus, a literal translation of the name Michael: “Who is like God?”. It is a response to Lucifer, cast out because of his pride. @codyswansonsculpture
